risk
a combo of chemical and environmental toxicity caused yesterday to be, shall we say - way less than a barrel of monkeys. i needed to send a package to a gentleman who purchased one of my ebay treasures - want to keep all that feedback positive. unfortunately the post office closest to my office was so crowded and i so daunted by it that i had to flee into the parking lot and take in deep breaths of crisp, cold parking lot air.
back at work things weren’t gobs of fun either and i just felt trapped. around three o’clock that back-breaking straw came along in the form of two maintenance men who needed access to the contents of our drop ceiling... just above my desk! of course i was in the middle of a half dozen things so rather than ask me to clear out these dudes just started stepping onto my desk and punching that cheap cork causing gritty bits to begin raining down on my already troubled head.
well if i needed any greater sign than that to bale i would be stupid as well as crazy so off i went. now i still have that package to mail so i gird my loins and hit the post office close to my home. this one too is crowded but i decide to brave it anyway. i’m still not sure what exactly happened but from the time i walked through the door that was politely held to the time i departed i began to feel better. this was a united states post office and everyone was being nice to one another - real nice.
i sent the package and picked up some really cool stamps - bats and cary grant…not on the same stamp of course - that would be way cool. but of all the places to actually be uplifting! i mean the term ‘going postal’ didn’t come from nowhere and i myself was close to knowing exactly why animals attack but blessedly these dangerous feelings were diffused simply by witnessing and participating in a little common courtesy.

prevention is kinder than destruction. each year over six million healthy dogs, cats, puppies and kittens are killed as surplus. remember: neuter, spay and don't let them stray!
