little rituals
little pleasures, little celebrations. in a life that hurls me in a thousand different directions at break-neck speed i attempt to pause and deflect some of the insanity with the simplest of joys. just now i am steeping some chamomile tea in a lovely little green ceramic pot. everything about the process feels like a reward of sorts and soothes me.
i decided one afternoon a few weeks ago that I wanted a teapot - a real one - so off i went on my lunch hour to the world market where perched upon a shelf was the one waiting just for me. it’s precious, round and smooth and it feels so good to warm my hands on it. like linus’ search for the great pumpkin i knew this one to be the most sincere . a tiny dollop of orange blossom honey in the bottom of my chinese teacup and i pour my lovely tea, stir gently and for a few moments enjoy and at least pretend to relax.

prevention is kinder than destruction. each year over six million healthy dogs, cats, puppies and kittens are killed as surplus. remember: neuter, spay and don't let them stray!
