early tomorrow morning i depart for maui and while the island is certain to be dotted with cyber cafes it’s not likely i’ll be hanging in any of them. with dramatic surf pounding volcanic outcroppings, double rainbows, dinner-plate-sized hibiscus blooms and pods of humpbacks breeching just offshore i should hope to be pleasantly occupied.
to insure maximum comfort the dirt and i set one another on fire yesterday. ear candling - its wonderful...just a little added insurance toward being able to regulate our ears a) 30,000 feet in the air and b) 65 feet under the surface of the big blue. the half sunken crater of molikini is worth the ten hour flight alone; one barely need kick their fins, the current along this crescent of live coral is perfect just to drift and take in the fantasia of amazing marine life.
i’ve grown quite fond of many diarylanders and at the risk of sounding like a corndog i will miss you. hopefully i’ll have some entertaining tales to document upon my return, or at least be so chilled i don’t purge my foul mood all over these pages.
