scratch part II
dead presidents don't speak and that's a very good thing. just this morning a friend left at a blistering 5AM for Bali where she will, hopefully, spend two blissful weeks.
she values my friendship and my capacity as Aunt Calico to her companion animals. In addition to being thoroughly charmed by Zoë, Eleanor and Tootsie I will be lining my pockets with a green version of her peace of mind.
this is a gig i could probably get used to: peace and quiet, cold beer in the fridge, the gratitude of feline and canine alike, free run of a kick-ass condo and last - but certainly not least - ca$h! it's times like these when my entrepreneurial mind tilts to full swing and i picture an elite enterprise all my own:
Hey you! Yeah, you - are you headin' clear off to the other side of the world? I'm talkin' Southeast Asia? Well you don't want them critters left alone with strangers or in some cramped and smelly cage - heck no! You want yer old pal Aunt Calico to see after 'em. That's right, just go draw some cash out the bank, stock that fridge with some brew and take off; have fun, we'll be all fat 'n' happy when you get back.

prevention is kinder than destruction. each year over six million healthy dogs, cats, puppies and kittens are killed as surplus. remember: neuter, spay and don't let them stray!
